gender disapointment, it was carrying her in a wrap that I feel caused us to truly connect with eachother. I carried her everywhere in that wrap we didnt even OWN a stroller (for her at least I had a umbrella stroller for Rachel.) 2 days after Charle was born we went trick or treating. Rachel was dressed up as a dead bride and Charle was safely tucked away in a moby wrap. Now of course being 2 days postpartum I was in pain after not to long but it wasnt because of the wrap!! Babies are carried in your womb (sometimes more sometimes less) for around 9 months (in cases of adoption this obviously not the case) they expect to be carried longer!!! Bag like carriers like the one in the article are NOT safe. It is NOT safe to carry your baby front facing so babies chin is on his/her chest. Wraps/slings are GREAT if used correctly! Baby MUST be postioned in a safe way. It takes practice, its an art! I am no expert on baywearing and I will not pretend to be so. But I do KNOW that it is one of the reasons I bounded with Charle bug, the other being extended breastfeeding. But that is for another blog another day. If you choose to babywear YAY for you! But please be educated about it find the right carrier for you and your baby. Bag slings are always a NO! And also when carrying your baby make sure you learn how to postion baby correctly first. In closing I want to say BABYWEARING IS SAFE! Don't let the news fool you :)

Here Charle is at 13 months old (maybe older Im not sure:P) in a pouch style carrier that my good friend Whitney made for us.

Rock on, lady, rock on!!!
This is what I send my friends when I make them a sling:
http://www.wearyourbaby.org/Default.aspx?tabid=36
---wearyoubaby.org is wonderful but has all kinds of wraps, this is for ring slings: http://www.wearyourbaby.org/default.aspx?tabID=88
remember to read all the safety items and make sure the fabric is good and flat in the ring and "The shoulder part of the sling is important
for spreading the weight of your baby and making sling wearing comfortable. Spread the material out over your shoulder, from the neck to
the top of your arm. Make sure that the sling is not twisted and that the material is spread out across your back too. There's a trade off
here - the wider the spread over the shoulder, the more comfortable the sling will be... but it can restrict your arm movement a little."
these are great as well:

If you would like to make your own here is where to get the rings

the instructions i used:
http://www.sleepingbaby.net/jan/ Baby /sling.html + (for pleat in shoulder) http://www.sleepingbaby.net/jan/ Baby/sling_pleat.html
I recommend using between 2-2.5 yards (most people need 2 and a quarter[2.25]) just depends on you body and how long you want the
tail to be.
Educate yourself!!!
miss you!
thanks for all that info Whitney!! Your awesome!
