Feild Trip to Kayak Point

On Thursday Rachel had an all day feild trip to a place here called Kayak Point. It is a beautiful place up here. We walked along the beach and found seashells it was so much fun! Then these divers brought up some sea life for the kids to touch and see up close it was soooo cool! They brought up these HUGE pink prickly starfish, giant crabs and then somethin I forgot the name of. It was so neat to touch them and see them I think I thought it was cooler then Rachel thought it was lol. Here are some col pictures that I took while there.

So growing up the sock monster use to steal all my socks...now Im 24 and have 2 kids and still this damn sock monster is around. I have bought socks not only for myself but also for my girls probably 20 times this year alone and already they are gone!!! WHERE THE HELL DO THEY GO??!! I mean my house isnt THAT big sure kids socks are small but come on!! Im glad its summer and you dont need them as bad in the summer :p lol But still blah I need to figure out someway to get rid of that damn sock monster!!

Charle and the adventure of the potty chair

So we have been doing this potty thing for a whole day now lol. And she will go and sit on the potty then get up walk off and go pee on the floor....hmmm dont think she gets the concept. Ive had to clean pee off the floor ooo about 20 times today...not really that much but its seemed like it :p She had another weight check today and shes still at 16 lbs 3 ozs but the nurse isnt worried cause at least shes not losing and we have had a very active week. Rachel is helping "hatch" butterflys at school. She came home telling me they were in there cacoons now and that in 2 weeks they will come out and be butterflys. She is super excited about it. She also made a timeline of the life of a butterfly. She was very proud of it. Well its time for me to start lunch then Rachel is going to go play with the neighbor while Charle takes her nap. Maybe Ill get to clean house while that is going on!! Wouldnt that be nice :p Im also guna try and get some cute pictures of the girls today

Here are some of the recent pictures of Charle that I have taken. She is getting big and everyday she is gettitng smarter and smarter. She is such a joy I am so blessed to have her as my daughter. She brings a smile to my face every day. We are starting potty training this week!! So that is going to be very exciting. Im not rushing her but at least she can start the process!

Friday we headed up to Anacortes with our friends Rochello and Jennifer and their little baby boy, I cant spell his name so Im not going to try lol. We had a great time Friday we got some of the basic stuff done. Getting settled, getting fishing licenses, and that sort of thing. We had a fire pit and cooked hot dogs then headed up to Mt. Erie to watch the sunset. Then Saturday we woke up early and were planing on going fishing and what not but instead we ended up hanging out with my brother and his family out in the water. My brother has all sorts of toys lol. So we went out on the boat, played on the jet ski and also went on his newest toy....I forget what its called but its a lot of fun. After spending all day on the water and getting cleaned up from that we went down to the Waterfront festival which is an annual festival in Anacortes to kick off boating season. Theres live music, expensive food, booths to buy different things, and games for the kids. We got there late so we didnt do all of it but next year will be better casue Charle will be older and can do things. That night my nieces spent the night and we had s'mores, Charle LOVED them! We tried to wake up early Sunday night but the boys had stayed out to late so none of us woke up early enough. So after a late breakfast we all went fishing...got a few bites but didnt catch anything lol. Then we decided it was time to pack up and head home. It was still super hot out so the girls and I played outside in the sprinkler with some of the neighbor kids. We deffintly had a LOOOOONG weekend but it was a lot of fun. Now Im sitting here tierd, sore and sunburned....oddly enough only sunburned on my elbow of all places. Now its time for the girls to take their baths and get into bed. Hopfully the rest of the summer will have fun weekends like this...heres to wishing for warm weather up here this summer! Sunny day in Washington

So today was a BEAUTIFUL day. rachel went to school without a fight!! YAY! lately she hasnt wanteide the bus casue its to loud...shes weird lol. Well anyways while she was at school Charle and I played outside I wish I brought my camera out cause Charle just looked to dang cute!! She is walking all over and it brings me so much joy to see that! She really has blossomed the past few months. She is growing up :) Shes becoming a little girl slowly and while it saddens me it also is a relief that this baby stage will be over someday :p Charle had special education today they come once every 2 weeks to work on some basic things, right now everyone is mor focused on getting her to gain weight. So the therapist today brought in chocloate pudding and heavy cream and Charle got to pour the cream into the pudding mix and stir....it was more like frosting it was NASTY! But Charle and Rachel loved it. We ended up playing outside for awhile and the girls were being their usual selfs ignoring eachother, then playing together then fighting. Charle has such a 2 year old attitude already! Shes gunna be my difficult one I can already tell!! We have new filipino neighbors and they have a little boy Charle's age, just a few days younger, and it is so cute to see them "playing" together. Rachel is currently in a "fight" with her best friend, Hailey,...but its only certain times that shes mad at her....girls how much fun. All and all today was a great day...besides the fact charle didnt eat to much today...a constant battle with food!

CHARLE

Ok for those that don't know since Charle (pronounced Charlie) was 9 months old we have had weigh issues. Now they arent your typical American obesse issues that many struggle with this day and age. no I have that baby who CAN'T gain weight. You know that kid who would eat a whole can of spaggetti o's in one sitting and still nothing. Seriously she could out eat her Ate ("AHHTAY" tagalog for big sister) everytime we sat down for a meal. At 12 months she could finish a cheeseburger happy meal by herself! And still she wasnt gainign enough weight drove us nuts!! We started her on pediasure and that was helping a lot! Well then late January of 2008 she got the flu bug. She couldnt hold anything down not even breastmilk, yes she was still being breastfed at 16 months of age, so we rushed her into the ER, after of course talking to my neighbor to make sure she thought that was not me being parinoid lol. We got her there and she was dangerously dehydrated and still vomiting. I asked to be transfered up to Children's they said no. So we were admited and in the hospital for 4 days before I demanded to be transfered to Children's. There they told me she has been diagnosed with Failure to Thrive, FTT. What?!! how can this be how can my botomless pit of a daughter have FTT??!! They ruled out anything organic, meaning there is no medical explination. I feel thats bull still to this day but whatever. So now we have all sorts of people in and out of our house to "help" us get her to gain the needed weight. Once a week we have a home visiting nurse who comes in and does all those nursey things, we have OT who is also a feeding specialist who watches her eat and will help her with the running, jumping yada yada when the time comes for that she comes once a week as well, we have special education who comes in and works with sign language and we play food related games and she comes once everyother week, we have family preservation who comes in at least once a week and also comes to all our doctor appointments, we go to the doctors once a month and then we have various other things...needless to say we are WAY to busy sometimes. The good news is though Charle is gaining very well. She is now as of today, weighing in at 16lbs 3 oz!!! Now if only the doctors office would stop using different scales to get her weight maybe they would be on the same page as the home nurse!!

RACHEL

Now Rachel...she sure likes to keep me on my toes! She has strep throat, again! After she started school this year she has been sick a lot! but she is doing great in school. And they love having her there. She can almost write her name, in the right order. She has all the letters down but gets C and E confused sometimes. She is a great artist she loves to paint and draw and she does a really good job of it. She has a lot of friends in her class and seems to always have a great time there. She will come home tlaking about different kids all the time. Its really neat. I try and vlounteer once a week, if Charle's schedule lets me. The kids there are all really nice and Rachel is the class clown lol. Other then that nothing much to report on Rachel shes getting bigger, smarter and prettier everyday. She will deffinitly be smarter then all of us someday soon!

Well I figured this is probably the best way to keep everyone updated on the happenings of our family. I do the whole myspace thing but it turns out they delete posts after so long :( wish I had known that lol. So I will be transfering what I had over there to over here and wish that I had done it sooner. It would have been nice to have the blogs from when we were in the hospital here....oh well I guess. Dont have much time to update now seeing as I have to get breakfast cooked, diaper changed and get ready for Charle's thearpy that she has today. Ill update later though :D
